Dr. Patrick F. Foley grew up west of Chicagoland in the farming community of Deer Grove, Illinois. He received his B.S.Ed. from Northern Illinois University in 1973. He taught math and chemistry at Oswego High School before attending dental school. In 1980, he and his wife, Rita, received their D.D.S. degrees from the University of Illinois College of Dentistry. Dr. Foley then completed an Army General Practice Residency and practiced as a general dentist in the military for five years. He received his Master of Science degree from the Saint Louis University Department of Orthodontics in 1987.

Dr. Foley maintains memberships in several professional organizations, including the American Dental Association, Illinois State Dental Society, Chicago Dental Society, American Association of Orthodontists, Midwestern Society of Orthodontists and the College of Diplomates of the American Board of Orthodontics. He is a founding member of the Northwest Interdisciplinary Dentofacial Study Group. Dr. Foley is Board Certified and holds the title of Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics. He has also been a board examiner for the ABO since 2007. He is also a Clinical Professor at the Saint Louis University Center for Advanced Dental Education. Dr. Foley was originally appointed as a Trustee on the Board of the Illinois Society of Orthodontists. Also, he is a member of the Board of the University of Illinois College of Dentistry Alumni Association

In his spare time, Dr. Foley has enjoyed coaching his four children in basketball, baseball, softball and soccer. He also includes painting with watercolor among his hobbies.

Dr. Foley's eldest son, John, is a dental student who someday hopes to join his father's practice.
